Opportunities for PrayerThe Boiler RoomFive young college students were spending a Sunday in London, so they went to hear the famed C.H. Spurgeon preach. While waiting for the doors to open, the students were greeted by a man who asked, "Gentlemen, let me show you around. Would you like to see the heating plant of this church?" They were not particularly interested, for it was a hot day in July. But they didn't want to offend the stranger, so they consented. The young men were taken down a stairway, a door was quietly opened, and their guide whispered, "This is our heating plant." Surprised, the students saw 700 people bowed in prayer, seeking a blessing on the service that was soon to begin in the auditorium above. Softly closing the door, the gentleman then introduced himself. It was Charles Spurgeon. Below are some ways you can become part of the 'Boiler Room' in Wellington. Wednesday Night PrayerThis is an opportunity for us to meet together as a Church family to pray about things that are impor-tant to the family. It is open to all people of all ages! Below are the dates for prayer each month and what we will be praying about. When we studied Acts 12 the Church met together to pray for a situation that they were powerless in, but as they prayed together God answered prayer in an incredible way. For this next period of time the themes for the Wednesday nights will be as follows:
Sunday Morning/Evening PrayerEach Sunday morning (11:00am) and Sunday evening (6:00pm) there is an opportunity to meet with others in the Prayer Room prior to the Service to pray. It is important that we pray for those taking part and also those who are attending the Service.
H E L P in CancerWe are a small group, who have all battled with cancer. We know what it is like to feel weak and helpless - even to the point of not being able to pray for ourselves. As a result HELP in Cancer was formed. We meet, in the Prayer Room, to pray for others on the first Wednesday of each month at 10.30 am. If you, or a family member, have been touched by this illness please feel free to join with us or let us know how we can pray for you (or a loved one). We will treat all requests with sensitivity and confidentiality. The Christian’s most powerful resource is communion with God through prayer. The results are often greater than we thought were possible!
The Prayer Room" Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place." (2 Chronicles 7 v. 14) How incomprehensible, that Almighty God, 'Elohim', creator of all things, promises to be attentive to our prayers. As a loving father sits down with his child to listen, counsel and embrace - so our Heavenly Father beckons us close to Himself. This promise lies at the heart of the vision for the Prayer Room. The purpose of this room is to provide another 'place' for dwelling, reflecting, confessing, interceding, thanksgiving, committing, renewing, and so much more, according to God's grace and favour. Whilst the world sighs from unstoppable pace and activity, God's desire is for us to stop, rest, wait and abide in HIM. -- For our good -- and His Glory --
Prayer Ministry TeamThere are seasons in our lives when we find prayer a struggle - times when we can’t pray and need the support of others. The Prayer Ministry Team meets after church on a Sunday morning and Sunday night and we would love to pray with you for situations that you may been facing. Please come and allow God to minister to you. "The greatest tragedy in life is not unanswered prayer but unoffered prayer." God promises that when we come to Him He will ….. ".....answer us and show us great and unsearchable things that we do not know." Jeremiah 33 v. 3
