Story

Re-Story is our furniture ministry where we receive donated items, give them a new lease of life, a new story, and re-distribute them within our community where we seek to show the love of Jesus to others and walk alongside them in sometimes very difficult circumstances.

It is our aim that as each piece of furniture goes out, that it is accompanied by an opportunity to share the hope of the gospel to those who receive it, perhaps being the start of their new story too.

Since 2019, God’s people have been so faithful in donating what is needed and we see God providing in so many ways both in furniture and in volunteers. It is such a privilege for some of our volunteers to be able to walk alongside people in their most challenging moments, showing that God sees them and cares about them, and so do we.

Re-Story depends on donations of furniture that is in good order, or on occasion we need to purchase items so donations of cash are also welcomed. We are also dependent on our small team of volunteers to pick up and deliver the furniture, as well as those who help to paint/restore the furniture. There are no set hour – the team simply respond as required.

It is our desire and our prayer that God cultivates in all of us a heart to see the brokenness in ourselves and in others and for empathy to serve people in whatever situation God leads us to.
